Day 1: Cusco > Ollantaytambo > Aguas Calientes > Machu Picchu > And Vice Versa

To visit Machu Picchu in one day, you need to get up early, leaving at 3:40 a.m. from the hotel and traveling from Cusco to Ollantaytambo, where you board the train to the town of Aguas Calientes. Once you reach the place, you need to board a bus that goes up to the access area to the sanctuary.

The visit begins with the entrance check and with the company of the guide who will lead the group through the most important places in the Inca city, showing and explaining all the most important points and always willing to answer questions and resolve doubts regarding the particularities of Inca engineering and architecture, talking about the scientific theories regarding the sanctuary for a period of two hours, after which you have a reasonable amount of time to visit the place freely. The entire sanctuary is conveniently organized and signposted to improve your experience.

The visit to Machu Picchu concludes in coordination with the guide, then you board the return bus and you can optionally visit the hot springs of Aguas Calientes, the craft markets and the local museum.

At 6:40 p.m. you board the train for the return trip to Ollantaytambo, where the bus that will transport you to Cusco awaits, concluding the trip.
